Food Allergy Info

Angier is a peanut- and tree-nut free school.

This policy, adopted during the 2017-18 school year, applies to all food items for children and adults in the school and during school-wide events held at Angier during or outside of school hours.

The following practices are in place:
– Do not bring or send in food that contains peanuts or tree nuts to school.
– Products listing traces of peanut or tree nut products in the “May Contain” section of the label are permitted. (Children with the allergies, however, cannot consume these foods.)
– No food sharing or food trading will be allowed during snack, at lunch, or at any other times to reduce exposure for all children with allergies. This is a district-wide guideline, which has been an existing school-wide practice for a number of years.
– Tables will be washed after snack and lunch.
– Hand washing will continue before and after eating.

Please contact Nurse Cornelia and/or Principal Higgins Averill with any questions or concerns.
