  • Apr. 27: An Evening for Angier

From the Co-Presidents

Dear Angier families-

Welcome back!  Happy Passover to those who celebrate!  We hope everyone enjoyed the April break either here in Waban or Farther Afield!  Spring has absolutely sprung, and we have a fun and busy couple of months of school left!!

We are so grateful for the partnership with Wellesley Books for a successful first Angier Book Fair!  Every child at Angier got to choose their own book to bring home and we had tons of browsing by families throughout the week and at our Book Party.  Special shout out Liz Donovan and Megan Kamm who helped curate the selection, our guest author Elaine Demopoulos  and our amazing parent volunteers Xuan Tran, Sara Kunin, Hina Kaleem, Micah Nathan and Ken Wing for helping make this event so special!  Thank you to the community for your donations – we achieved just over 75% of our goal!  Donations are still welcome – click here

Woot woot carts continue to be a highlight for the school on Fridays!  Thanks to Sheryl Reilly and Jess Bridges for sweetly kicking off vacation!

GAME ON
Come support your Fifth Graders and play video games with your friends on Thursday, April 25th!  We will be on the playground all afternoon while kids rotate through their time slot!  No gaming experience required and all grades welcome!  More details below and Game Truck sign-up.

IT’S PROM TIME!!!
Our spring fundraising has started in conjunction with An Evening for Angier. The money we raise now provides resources throughout the year to come, covering everything from classroom essentials to technology to arts & sciences. If you are able, please consider participating. Buy-It-Now events (BINs) go on sale starting at noon on Tuesday (23rd). The silent auction is now on sale, as are raffle tickets. And the live auction happens the evening of the event. See the event website for the listings and more details: onecau.se/angier2024. Donating is not required to attend An Evening for Angier – it is first and foremost a community event!

GREATEST INVENTION IS THE MIND OF A CHILD
It’s time to INVENT!  As a reminder, the Invention Invasion is a non-competitive celebration of student innovation.  All student K-5 are invited to create an invention, or model an invention (it doesn’t have to work!) that solves a problem in their own lives or the lives of others.  Reminder to make sure your students complete their entry form HERE by Tuesday, April 23rd.  The Invention Invasion will be held Tuesday, April 30th from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Angier cafetorium– Everyone is invited to see the inventions and join in the fun!  For more information, see this informational flier.

TWO WHEELS = HAPPINESS
Angier’s 3rd Annual Community Bike Ride and Rodeo is back on Saturday, May 11th at 8:30am!  Choose your speed and participate in either a 5 mile bike ride, a 1.5 mile bike ride or a bike rodeo!  For those not riding, come and cheer on the riders, hand out water and play on the plaza!  Smaller bikes, scooters, bubbles and chalk will be supplied!  Suggested donation for the event is $10 per person or $35 per family.
