From the Principal Message

Angier in ActionWeek of December 1st, 2024

GREETINGS!

Dear Angier Families,

I hope you’re having a great long weekend! Even though it was a short break, I really enjoyed having some extra time to relax and be with my family.
During December, we recognize National Inclusive Schools Week/Month. As you hopefully know, everyday in our classrooms we celebrate the differences and diversity of our students. While inclusion is a way of life at Angier, we take time this month to recognize the many people who contribute to our inclusive community – which is all of us.
I am grateful to lead our school community that is constantly learning, growing, listening and working together to be more inclusive and compassionate. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and collaboration. Have a wonderful week!

Warmly,

Orla

DECEMBER CELEBRATIONS & OBSERVANCES

We are committed to respectfully acknowledging a variety of celebrations and observances, ensuring that Angier is an inclusive and affirming space for the diverse identities and experiences of our students, staff, and families. We appreciate you sharing the holidays and celebrations that are meaningful to your family; you may continue to do so HERE.

During December, Angier families honor a variety of traditions as the year comes to a close. Wishing you joy on St. Nicholas Day, warmth and renewal on Yalda Night, and festive cheer during Las Posadas. May Hanukkah bring light, Kwanzaa inspire meaning, and Christmas be filled with merriment. And best wishes for a safe and joyful New Year’s Eve!

Inclusive Schools Week image

December is Inclusive Schools Week/Month, dedicated to celebrating and promoting inclusivity within educational environments. We are always striving to create environments where students feel understood, accepted for who they are, and celebrated for their strengths.

IMPORTANT REMINDER – VISITOR SIGN-IN

photo of visitor badge

A reminder that ALL visitors must sign in at the front office and wear a visitor badge while in the building. This step is very important as it helps us ensure the safety of everyone by knowing who is in the building at all times.

Thank you for your cooperation in making Angier a safe and welcoming environment for all.

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (SEPAC)

The Newton SEPAC supports families with concerns related to special education both in and outside of the public school system. Every year, each Newton school has at least one parent liaison who serves as the school-based parent contact. The parent liaison partners with school administrators on matters relating to special education, serves as a point person for parents who are seeking more information or resources, and communicates with the school community about SEPAC updates.

  • This year, Leigh Janczak (parent of Andrew Janczak ~ 4th grade) will serve as Angier’s SEPAC liaison. Leigh can be reached directly at janczakfamily4@gmail.com or 617.921.4341.
