Angier Upstanders Club Meeting, Wednesday, June 21, 12:10-1:10PM

If an Upstander sees or hears about bullying, he, she, or they, will do something. This could mean stopping the person that is bullying, reporting the event, or otherwise helping the targeted person even after the fact. If your child would like to join a group that teaches about how to Upstand against bullying, please have them come to the next Upstanders meeting! You can come even if this is your first meeting!

On Wednesday, June 21, 12:10-1:10PM, join 4th grader Julia Rubin right after school on Wednesday in Room 301 for a meeting of the Upstanders Club. Open to all grades! Bring your lunch and remember to change School Pass. Any questions email juliayrubin@gmail.com

Message from the Beautification Committee

1) Please help keep the Angier garden alive and thriving through the summer! We need volunteers to sign up for a week-long slot to help water the garden. Parents – this is a great way to get your kids involved in caring for our beloved garden!  Thank you! The Signup Genius link is: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0A44AFAD23A2FE3-garden2

2) Could you please ask the community to keep the outdoor space around Angier free of litter and trash? We have trash and recycling bins in the front plaza to keep Angier clean and beautiful. Do your part, even during the summertime!

Newton Shines Collaborative Mural

Angier art teacher Deb Kramer invites the community to view the Newton Shines collaborative mural on display at City Hall, which she created with Newton community members at the FamilyFunFest in May. Everyone is really happy with how it turned out. More info and a preview here.

Newton Schools Foundation Honor Thy Teacher

As the school year comes to an end, if you are looking for a way to express your appreciation to a teacher or other school staff member for the hard work that they do and the care they show for your student each and every day, while also complying with the NPS no-gift policy, here is a way to say thank you.
By donating to Newton Schools Foundation’s Honor Thy Teacher, you can show your appreciation AND support your children’s schools. NSF will notify each staff member honored of your gift and share their names with Principals and the Superintendent. Each honored staff member will receive a certificate and commemorative display magnet, and a list of honored teachers will appear on the NSF website.
Your tax-deductible donation will go towards funding NSF grants for new approaches in the classroom, professional development for teaches, and programs that promote equity for all students.
It’s easy to donate online at the NSF Website. Please be sure to include the name of your student and the names of the teachers and/or staff that you are honoring.

Message from Brown PTO

Hello Incoming 6th Grade Families from the Brown PTO; Your Community Continues in Middle School
We are excited to meet all of you! Please look out for an email from Principal Lysaght this summer that she will send on our behalf. We will communicate through her because NPS doesn’t provide the PTO with your contact information until a few weeks into September. Before we all start our summer, we want to let you know our Brown PTO Volunteer sign-up for the 23_24 school year is live now.  We want to give you the same opportunity to volunteer as the current families at Brown. Please Click Here to view our volunteer needs and please volunteer!
The Brown PTO is an all-volunteer run group of engaged and supportive parents and caregivers.  Parent involvement is the single most important thing parent groups do. Schools with involved parents enjoy better morale among teachers, a strong community and enriching learning environment. Your help is welcomed & greatly appreciated whether it’s a little or a bit more. The goal is to create a great relationship between the parents and staff at Brown that will benefit our children!
Even if you: Work full time, Work part time, Like to do one task and done, Aren’t a “People Person”, Haven’t volunteered before…we have just the right volunteer opportunity for you!
