Get excited for the Angier social event of the spring! An Evening for Angier presents Prom Night!

What is An Evening for Angier (AEFA)?

An Evening for Angier (or AEFA) is a community celebration for Angier parents / caregivers, teachers, and staff. It’s also the PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, including an auction, raffle, and other ways to donate to the school (FAQ below.)

Where and when is it?

It will take place on Saturday, April 27th, at the Windsor Club, 1601 Beacon St in Waban.

How can I sign up to attend?

You will register via the event website, which is where you will also be able to bid on items and sign up for Buy-It-Now (BIN) events. When you purchase your ticket(s), you have an opportunity to purchase add-ons like a corsage or boutonniere, raffle and “heads or tails” tickets, and to pay for a teacher’s ticket.

Financial assistance is available. Teachers and staff are invited free-of-charge.

What is the cost?

Tickets for parents / caregivers cost $75 per person for the 7-11pm event. If you would like to attend the cocktail hour, the total ticket cost is $100 per person. Financial assistance is available for those who need it. Teachers and staff attend free but must register (please see Orla.)

If you are able, we encourage you to pay for a ticket for a teacher or staff member (available when you purchase your tickets.)

What is the cocktail hour?

The event officially begins at 7pm. However, a cocktail hour ticket gives you entry to the event at 6pm, one hour before the main doors open. In addition to more time to mix and mingle with the open bar, there are a few special surprises for those who purchase a ticket to attend the cocktail hour.

Can I attend solo?

Yes! You are encouraged to attend. This is a social event with lots of activities and fun for all adults in the Angier community.

Are children invited?

AEFA is an adults-only event. Find your babysitters or schedule your sleep-unders now!

Why do we need to raise money for the PTO?

Our PTO funds educational enrichment programs for students, provides additional support to classrooms, and enables Angier community-building. The PTO develops and supports resources for science, technology, classroom needs, and the arts.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AT THE EVENT

There are several fundraising opportunities at AEFA: silent auction, live auction, Buy-It-Nows (BINs), Heads or Tails, and a raffle.

What is the auction?

Hand-selected packages donated by Angier families and the community at large will be available via a silent and live auction. They include unique vacation, sporting, and entertainment offerings donated by the community. More information about the auction will become available in late March.

If you are interested in donating an auction item, find out more here: https://forms.gle/ygJMNuLxDbDWm22a7

What are BINs (Buy-It-Nows)?

The Buy-It-Now (BIN) events are a great way to have fun and get to know the community. They are only-at-Angier experiences sponsored by individuals in the community to raise money. There are events for adults, kids, and families. Typical events include wine tastings, themed dinner parties, sporting activities, ice cream parties, movie nights, and crafting.

What is Heads or Tails?

Heads or Tails is an Angier tradition and a fun game. For $25, you receive a themed wearable and a chance to win a great prize!

What is the Raffle?

We have secured an amazing prize that could very well blow your child’s mind. The winning ticket will provide their child’s classroom with a very special experience. Raffle tickets are 5 for $25 or 12 for $50. You do not need to attend the event to participate in the raffle.

What is Close the Gap?

Close the Gap is an Evening for Angier tradition. It’s an opportunity at the end of the auction to raise your paddle to donate money to help “close the gap” between school needs and current resources. Dr. H will designate and share where these funds go prior to the event.

What if I don’t want to bid on items?

First and foremost, An Evening for Angier is a community event. We want everyone to attend and connect with the great people in our community. And when you buy a ticket to the event, you’re making a contribution. Please join us for the evening even if bidding isn’t for you!

What if I can’t attend the event but want to bid on items?

We will miss you but are glad that you want to support the school. You can bid on silent auction items and sign up for BINs through the event app. If you are interested in bidding on live auction items, please email angierpto.aefa@gmail.com.

If I win, how do I get my stuff?

If possible, we will get you your items on the evening of. In some cases that is not possible and we will ask you to meet committee members at drop-off or pick-up on select days to collect your winnings. Some items can be emailed, which should be taken care of within 2 weeks after the event. All payment is made through the event app.

Be sure to check back here for updates on planning and ticket sales.
