Support Our Children’s Teachers
We LOVE our educators. We NEED our educators. We want them to have a fair contract. Together with the other Newton PTOs, we are planning a Stand-Out in support of our teachers on Friday November 3rd starting at 7:30 am. The event will take place on the Angier front plaza AND the back plaza at Angier.
How you can participate!
- Show up Friday with your children to stand in solidarity with our amazing teachers wearing BLUE!
- Create signs of support! Sample ideas for messages of support.
- Fill in a postcard with your message of support – postcards will be located in the front/back of the school! Click here to view
postcard. We are hoping to deliver 150 cards to the mayor’s office after the event. If you would like one in advance, please let us know.
Help needed
- We will hold a “campaign style” event prep event Thursday (11/2) night at 6:30pm in the Angier Cafeteria! Bring your children to make signs, sign postcards and help “chalk the plaza”! Pizza will be served for all volunteers. Click here if you plan to join us Thursday.
- Make a sign at home! If anyone would like a “sign making kit”, please reach out with your address and a PTO member will drop it off!

PTO will be providing cider, donuts and coffee on Friday morning. We look forward to seeing you then! Together we stand with our teachers.
