Welcome New Families!

Welcome to the Angier community!

The Angier School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization made up of all the parents and teachers at Angier, working together to make Angier the best it can be for our children. The PTO has two goals: enriching our children’s Angier experience and building a strong, vibrant school community. We accomplish this by organizing and funding a wide range of events and activities throughout the year and by financially supplementing the resources available to the school and our incredible teachers. Of course, this all takes a lot of hard work and money, so we count on volunteers and fundraising to get the job done. There are so many ways to get involved and we hope that you’ll find the ways to connect and contribute that work for your family.

Here are a few ways you can jumpstart your family’s experience at Angier…

Communications
Angier greensheet:
Sign up for the Angier greensheet to receive a weekly email with the latest school news, preview of upcoming events, important dates, etc. This weekly newsletter is put together by volunteers and sent out on Sunday evenings. Sign up here

School Directory:
Sign up for Membership Toolkit, our school directory. Looking to set up playdates or contact other parents? This is the place to find contact information. You choose how much information you’d like to share. Please note you’ll need to update your information every year. Sign up here to get access to the directory.

Socials:
We maintain an Instagram account where you can see all the happenings at school.  Our handle is angier_pto. We also maintain a closed Facebook group called “Angier PTO Connection”; please request to join. It’s a great way to casually connect with and get questions answered by fellow Angier parents.

We also encourage you to learn about our school by exploring the PTO website at your leisure. It houses the most up-to-date Angier school information, including the school calendar, events info, bus and after school program information, volunteer opportunities (sign up to get involved here!), FAQ’s and more.

Student School Supplies
At Angier, we run a program called “Bulk Supplies.”  For a flat fee of $65, the PTO purchases AND delivers all the school supplies your child will need throughout the year to their classroom in time for the first day of school and makes replenishments throughout the year. Parents love it because it saves time and money. Kids love it because everyone has the same great stuff. Teachers love it because they get exactly what they need when they want it. It’s a win-win-win! Please order your child/ren’s supplies here.

Classroom Funds
Collected centrally and distributed directly to your child/ren’s classroom. Managed by room parents, these funds cover class parties, teacher gifts and more. Many companies match employee charitable donations; you may be able to double or triple your gift. Check with your Human Resources representative.  In addition to the classroom fund donation, we also have a general Jumpstart program, which helps us raise money for the school early in the year.  Please consider donating to both programs.

Suggested Classroom Fund Donations – $35 per child – click here to donate today.

Room Parents
Room parents help support the teachers in their classroom-based activities, including class parties, and help other class parents become involved. It’s a great way to directly contribute to your child’s classroom community.  Signups for this will be coming out shortly after school begins.

After School Programs
There are three After School Program options for Angier families to consider: Angier After School Program (AASP), Rec Place and Countryside Children’s Center (CCC). You can find contact info and learn more about each of them here.
